Remington Basic Sniper Course

Course Objectives
The Remington Basic Sniper Course is designed to provide military or law enforcement personnel with the basic skill sets required of a sniper. This is accomplished by providing the student with a 5 day course that focuses on mastery of fundamentals then progresses to realistic drills designed to prepare students to make accurate shots from concealed positions in support of tactical operations. This course encompasses those proven tactics, techniques and procedures that promote mission success and survivability under stressful, simulated tactical situations. Tactically sound fundamental skill sets will be presented in order to progressively bring student abilities to the point where they are competent at safely employing their rifle with precision results.

Students who successfully pass the Remington Basic Sniper Course will receive a certificate of completion. This is a pass or fail course.

• Fitting the Rifle
• Fundamentals of Marksmanship
• Scope Theory and Adjustment
• Ballistics
• Range Estimation
• Leads for Moving Targets
• Sniper / Observer Dialogue
• Engagements under Stress
• Low Light / No Light Engagements
• Weapons Safety
• Characteristics, Nomenclature, and Functioning
• Loading, Reloading and Unload
• Effects of the Weather
• Cold Bore Theory
• Range Card Development and Annotation
• Data Book Maintenance & Wind Reading
• Zeroing Procedure / Dope Confirmation
• Observation Techniques
• Rifle Cleaning / Maintenance
Course Prerequisites/Requirements
Restricted to Law Enforcement and Military participants.

Identification: 2 valid forms of State or Federal Picture Identification.

Firearms: Bolt action rifle capable of minute of angle accuracy.

Ammunition: 400 rounds of match-grade ammunition.
