Remington Arms Company to Distribute Advanced License Plate Reading Technology through Joint Venture

Madison, NC – Remington Arms Company, Inc. signed a joint venture agreement to enter into the License Plate Reading (LPR) business in the United States and Canada with Elsag S.p.A., a Finmeccanica company. Under this agreement, the two companies will form a joint venture to market, sell and provide service for this advanced LPR system under the name Remington Elsag Law Enforcement Systems, L.L.C. which will be headquartered in Madison, North Carolina.

Consistent with previously made announcements, Remington is broadening its core offerings to the domestic security marketplace by entering into this agreement with Elsag. This cutting-edge LPR technology will provide a new means for local, state and provincial law enforcement agencies to utilize advanced technologies to assist their goals of providing better, more effective security to the people of the United States and Canada.
